As the highly anticipated fight approaches between McGregor and Mayweather, fans from all over the world are on the last bit of their nails as they wait anxiously. Conor – the Mixed Martial artist with a record of 21/24 fights (18 KO’s) and Floyd ‘money’ Mayweather with an undefeated 49 fights (26 KO’s) is ‘scheduled’ to fight on the 26th of August in Las Vegas. This event will not only showcase monstrous punches, but monstrous checks too.
According to ESPN these are the projected numbers for the fight:
- $77.1m in ticket sales
- $475m in Pay Per View sales
- $22m in sponsorship sales
- $2m in merchandise sales
- $30m in bets
That’s a whopping $606.1 million from which each of the fighters will pocket an estimate of $100 million. If that’s not enough incentive to train hard-as-fuck, then I don’t want to know what is!
As a MMA athlete, Conor is giving up a lot of his skills to contend with Mayweather in the boxing ring, but this isn’t stopping him. Even Mike Tyson had something to say about that:
Conor will look ridiculous boxing Mayweather. – Mike Tyson
Like Mike Tyson, many have their doubts about Conor, but Conor’s confidence and work ethic seems unbreakable. And he likes to make it known too:
Here is a video of Conor’s coach talking about his preparation:
And it seems Conor is taking every opportunity to train:
Floyd Mayweather’s training
The boxing legend is stepping out of retirement and has made the decision to hire UFC fighter Kevin Lee to have him on his side during training.
So far, Mayweather’s training has been kept on the low but he is definitely training because he has stated numerous times that he believes the fight will happen. Here are some of his thoughts:
It has been made official, the fight will happen. These two will not duck out of a 100,000,000 deal! So keep watching your schedule and mark that X, then you could help be part of that $600m too!
They say "Life Is What You Make It" and to that, I'll agree wholeheartedly! As I sit here acknowledging how blessed I am to be retired a year shy of my 40th birthday, it's nearly impossible to say that I am not living the "American Dream". Without my usual six-pack or muscle tone in sight, I can sit back and get the last laugh, knowing that I put in the "Hard Work & Dedication" to be 49-0. I'm blessed to wake up every morning, certain that my bank accounts are growing. Making 7 figures monthly without moving a finger, just further proves that I've made brilliant investments and decisions that allow me to walk away from the ring, comfortably. I'm proud to be a King.
